Oliver firefighters were called to 6583 Lakeside Drive before noon today to deal with a report of a carbon monoxide alarm.

Ambulance and police were called, but paramedics were not needed.

There was no report of injuries, and firefighters cleared the scene shortly after arriving.

Rob Graham, spokesman for the Oliver Fire Department, said a resident made the call after hearing the alarm go off in a neighbour’s unit. Firefighters had to gain entry via a window and discovered that nobody was  home.

The alarm apparently had a low battery, Graham said.
