A dog’s house was destroyed by fire in Oliver last weekend.
Fire crews responded to a blaze next to a home off McKinney Road where a dog house went up in flames. This resulted in the side of the home catching fire, but crews extinguished it before it could advance to the interior.
The home sustained exterior damage only.
The fire department reported that all members of the family, including the dog, were safe.
It was not reported how the fire started.
During the month of November, the fire department responded to 28 calls, including four motor vehicle incidents and three fires. One was a structure fire on Earle Crescent involving an overheated extension cord on a deck.
Another fire occurred in a homeless camp on Co-op Avenue.
Crews responded to a report of smoke in a building on Bank Avenue where a bathroom fan had burned up.
Seven alarm calls turned out to be false alarms. Three calls were related to falling electrical wires.
