Firefighters were able to prevent an unattended campfire from spreading this afternoon.
Just before 5:00 p.m., members of the Oliver Fire Department responded to a fire under a bridge on Fairview Road, just east of Main Street.
“The fire appears to have been a camp fire of some sort that was left unattended under the bridge,” said spokesman Rob Graham.
Graham noted that the crew was able to extinguish the fire using a water extinguisher.
