More property owners in rural Oliver and Osoyoos are breathing a sigh of relief now that their properties are no longer under evacuation alert in the Nk’Mip Creek fire zone.
The regional district has rescinded the alerts for 154 properties and 42 properties with legal descriptions. The properties are in the Black Sage and Ryegrass Road area, plus Tucelnuit Drive area.
The fire is still classified as out of control at more than 16,000 hectares. Fire behaviour continues east and northeast of Oliver.
