The RCMP Emergency Response Team was called to Oliver on Friday to ensure the safety of police and the public during a search warrant on Sandpoint Drive.
On May 21 at approximately 9 a.m., the Oliver RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on the Osoyoos Indian Band reserve in relation to an investigation into a series of arsons and the shooting of a police vehicle that occurred on May 15.

Due to the high risk nature of the situation, the Southeast District Critical Incident Program and its Emergency Response Team was utilized to make sure the public and members of the Oliver detachment were safe during the operation.
No further details were released by police as the matter remains under investigation.
