Oliver and area residents are advised that the emergency department at South Okanagan General Hospital will close overnight from 6 p.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday.
Interior Health did not give a reason for this, but it normally relates to a lack of doctor availability.
During this closure, all other inpatient services will continue as normal at the hospital.
Interior Health advises residents that if they have an emergency, they should call 911 or visit Penticton Regional Hospital at 550 Carmi Avenue.
People can also call HealthLink BC at 811 if they are unsure if they need to seek emergency care.
