For those of you who missed the annual potluck and auction last Friday night, you missed a lot of fun. The food was great, the items to buy were ‘special’, and I was awarded a statue that I will cherish forever.  Many thanks to the people who volunteered to make things go so smoothly, and a very special thank you to Joyce Kuyzk and Polly McKay who did so much work to make the event a success!

There is just one final event coming up before the new year, and that is the Turkey Shoot on Thursday, December 18, starting at 7 pm. There is no admission charge and it is open to all curlers, young and old, male and female, gliders and stickers, present and past curlers.  In fact, if you have friends who used to curl and want to just throw a few rocks, invite them out.

George Hagel is in charge and he tells me you get two or three throws for $3, and there will be about eight shoots altogether – four turkeys and four hams.  George says that if you have one or two beer prior to throwing, your aim gets better and better, so the better chance to win is in the later draws.  I tried this last year and still did not win.
