The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has advised consumers that the Heavenly Spices brand of garlic powder is being recalled by Dollarama due to Bacillus cereus microbial contamination.
The recall was issued on July 14 and impacts 70 gm bottles of the garlic powder with best before code of “2029 JAN 30 GP 30ZV PIT”. The product is also labelled with the following UPC: 6 67888 50634 7.

The garlic powder was sold at Dollarama outlets across the country.
According to the Agency, the recall is a “Class II” which means there is a “moderate risk that consuming the food may lead to short-term or non-life threatening health problems.”
It advises to not “use, sell, serve or distribute” the affected product.
