Despite a slow start, the Osoyoos Coyotes managed to dominate the Chase Heat with a 4-3 overtime win at Sun Bowl Arena on Saturday night.

After a strong first period for the Heat it looked like the Coyotes might lose their two-month streak of wins on home ice.

Goals by the Heat’s Garrick Ward and Gavin Mattey started off the game with a two-point lead for Chase.

But the second half of the second frame put the Coyotes ahead with two power play goals by Ryan MacDonald and Brock Marple. A third goal by Anthony Tulliana, with 1:15 left in the period, brought the Coyotes ahead.

Chase managed to tie the game in the third period, with a goal by Kasey Jackson, bringing the game into overtime.

Less than 30 seconds into the first overtime period, Osoyoos’ Peter Michailides brought the team to victory with another power play goal.

Coyotes goalie Daniel Paul blocked 40 of 43 shots against him, while Osoyoos outshot the opposition by one, with 44 shots on goal.

Up next, the Osoyoos Coyotes take on the Kelowna Chiefs on Dec. 14 at Rutland Arena in Kelowna.

On Dec. 15 the Coyotes host the 100 Mile House Wranglers at Sun Bowl Arena at 7:35 p.m.
