Tony Baptiste had the best score of the day when the Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course staged its first Men’s Night of the season April 9.
Baptiste had the low gross score in the first flight after shooting a 37.
Thad Elder had the first flight low net with a 33.
In the second flight, Glenn Deobald had the low gross score with a 41, while Don McKay took the low net with a 35.
In the third flight, Bruce Portlove had the low gross after a count back with a 47. Bob Davies recorded the low net score with a 36.
“Wednesday April 8, a windy, but pleasant afternoon, saw 35 golfers compete for the first Men’s Night of the regular season. As usual, lots of fun and some good play,” said Men’s Club Captain Keith Johnson. “Golfers were treated to a great dinner at the new Gecko’s Grill, prepared by Bill and Dawn Reid and staff. Thanks, guys.”
Skins were won by the following seven players: Thad Elder, Dave Roberts, Victor Baptiste, Keith Shular, Clint Clifton, Ken Bruneski and Keith Johnson.
Men’s Night at Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course goes every Wednesday, with tee-off times between 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Fairview Mountain hosts
Hidden Partners Masters
Fairview Mountain officially kicked off its Men’s Night April 2nd.
On April 9th, the FVGC Men’s Night Hidden Partners Masters, sponsored by Gerard’s Equipment, took place.
There were six winners Thursday, with scores tied to the Masters, held last weekend.
Brian Brimmacombe’s partner was Jordan Speith, who won the Masters.
Other winners included Ken Hewlett (Sergio Garcia), Bruce Matattal (Russell Henley), Don McLarty (Matt Kuchar), Silvio Barreira (Padraig Harrington), and Pete Smith (Ryan Palmer).
As for Men’s Night results, the third hole KP winners included Terry Andreychuk (0-6 HC), Dick Visser (7-11), Mike Johnson (12-14), and Mike Morhun (15-plus HC).
Seventh hole KP winners included Andreychuk (0-6 HC), Dennis Fleming (7-11), Greg Casorso (12-14), and Barry Miller (15-plus HC).
The long putt competition on hole #8 saw Clay Schultz take top prize for 0-12 handicaps, and Huia Martin for 13 and up handicaps.
