The Anarchist Mountain Community Society (AMCS) is once again inviting the public to join them for a winter full of live music with its 2019-2020 Concert Series.
The series starts on Nov. 16 with a solo performance from Rob n’ Walker’s Rob Robertson.
Robertson spent more than a decade in Nashville trying to earn a living as a songwriter and performer before returning to the South Okanagan just three years ago. Through mutual musical friends, Robertson met up with Cliffe Fraser and Fritz Cronjaeger and they formed Rob n’ Walker.
Kicking off the new year, Son of John performs on Jan. 4.
Son of John is a father-and-son country-roots music duo based out of Castlegar, comprised of Javan Johnson and Johnny P. Johnson. Formed in 2017 as a passion project, Son of John is gaining success in Western Canada’s music scene and has toured B.C. and Alberta.

Kelowna-based bluegrass group Under the Rocks performs on Feb. 1. Performing original tracks along with their own arrangements of folk and bluegrass standards, the group has found the formula of enough familiarity and surprise factor to keep audiences engaged.
Under the Rocks formed in 2016 with Jordan Klassen (guitar), Chris Baxter (banjo) and James Prescott (bass), and later added Chloe Davidson (fiddle) and Drew Schulz (bass).
Singer-songwriter-pianist Jeffery Straker closes the series on March 14. Straker performs over 100 shows a year across Canada and has recorded for CBC Radio’s Canada Live. His tour stops range from intimate house concerts to club and theatre shows and include recent sold-out concerts with several Canadian symphony orchestras, performing his own songs.
All shows are from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Summit Centre on Anarchist Mountain (118 Peregrine Rd.).
Tickets are $25 for AMCS members, $30 for general admission in advance or at the door.
