Nearly every seat was taken in Frank Venables Theatre on Sunday during the Community Christmas Concert.

The Oliver Community Arts Council and the Oliver Community Theatre Society presented a great, two-hour show, with proceeds to the Oliver Food Bank.

Master of Ceremonies Penelope Johnson once again kept the flow with introductions and quizzes/prizes for the audience.

First up was a tap solo by Larissa Ingbritson-Hunt from the Oliver Dance Studio, followed by a ballet solo by Kayla Barisoff, and a lyrical solo by Sophia Barbieri. Ava Podmorow and Kristina Decker then performed a lyrical duo, followed by Madison Pearse who did a lyrical solo.

The talented Mikie Spillett and Ken Repkow performed three songs, followed by a Christmas medley by Lori Martine on flute and Brian Mapplebeck on clarinet.

The Holy Cross Choir from Penticton sang three songs, as did the Oliver Elementary School Chorus. This was followed by more singing by the Sage Valley Voices.

Aimee Grice performed three songs, followed by the Oliver Elementary Handbell Team. Then it was Dawn MacRae’s turn with her three songs.

The finale was presented by members of the Oliver Dance Studio, under director Leah Moen.
