The biting cold didn’t dampen the spirt of many Christmas Light-Up revellers in Oliver Friday night or Saturday morning during Breakfast With Santa.

Many rediscovered downtown as hoped by the Oliver Business Association, which welcomed families to check out the specials and take advantage of free goodies and hot chocolate. The roasted chestnuts and cupcakes courtesy of Brian and Katie Amos warmed people’s hearts and souls.

The OES choir got people in the mood as they waited for Santa Claus to arrive on the fire truck. The Light-Up countdown at the town hall didn’t go as planned, but it didn’t take long to fix the problem.

Everyone then headed to the community centre for more treats and activities, including a huge bonfire courtesy of the Oliver Fire Department, and a fireworks show ended the evening.

On Saturday morning the community centre was packed with pancakes and hungry kids who couldn’t wait to see Santa and get their photo taken with the the jolly old fat man. Check out more photos on the Chronicle’s Facebook page.
