Over this last weekend Oliver curling club hosted a very successful combined bonspiel.
With 128 people participating in the event it was a busy time for everyone. A lot of laughter and cheers and sportsmanship was filling the curling rink over the weekend. Some old friends were reunited as other new friendships started up. The food, music and dancing on Saturday night showed what great hosts Oliver is to our out-of-town teams.
Team Lyver from Osoyoos won the Woman’s A Event, shocking everyone when Red Lyver came out of a 12-year bonspiel retirement to lead her team to a victory over Team Casorso from Oliver.
Team Tarr from Penticton won the Men’s A Event. Also a great event as this team had not played together until this year and managed to win against the Green team from Summerland.
