The province’s health officer is advising people to be very careful how they expand their circle during COVID-19.
Today, Dr. Bonnie Henry said the more people you allow into your physical circle, the more risk you are taking in transmitting or contracting the virus.
Henry said if someone in her family is undergoing cancer treatment, she won’t be expanding her circle at all, nor should other people if they have a vulnerable family member.
She said some people might look at expanding their circle, but this doesn’t mean large group gatherings or indoor parties this summer.
Henry said people must ensure they don’t bring the virus home with them after expanding their physical connections. Remember the two-metre (six foot) distancing rule.
Henry reported 25 new COVID-19 cases in B.C. today, bringing the total to 2,112, including 170 in the Interior Health region.
She reported an additional two deaths in the province today, but noted that 1,322 people have fully recovered from the virus.
