Budget reset to ‘third reading’ as special meeting scheduled

Osoyoos Town Council has rescinded the 5 Year Financial Plan Bylaw No. 1386, 2023 (2024-2028) and returned it to “third reading” stage.

Osoyoos Mayor Sue McKortoff said, “as promised” a special council meeting will be held on January 16, 2024 at 6 p.m. at the Sonora Community Centre to accommodate the maximum number of Osoyoos residents.

The meeting will include an opportunity to discuss the 2024 budget and five year financial plan which carries with it tax and user fee hikes amounting to 39 per cent next year.

“Further information regarding the detailed agenda and opportunities for the public to engage in a constructive budget discussion will be forthcoming,” she added.
