The bodies of two boaters who were missing following a boat collision on Saturday evening have been recovered by police.
On Sunday shortly after 7 p.m., the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team located and recovered the bodies of a 35-year-old man from Kamloops and a 36-year-old man of Maple Ridge from Osoyoos lake, Sgt. Jason Bayda said.
“The RCMP remain at the scene in an effort to raise both boats from the bottom of the lake. The investigation into the cause of this collision is ongoing,” Bayda said.
Osoyoos RCMP is being assisted by RCMP marine analysts who specialize in investigating marine collisions.
The Osoyoos RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or the boats prior to the collision, or anyone who may have security cameras or other video recording devices that overlook the lake, to call 250-495-7236.

The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team is searching for two occupants of a boat that was involved in a collision on Osoyoos Lake on Saturday evening.
“The Osoyoos RCMP received numerous reports of a collision between two boats on Osoyoos Lake between Highway 3 and Swiws Provincial Park/Haynes Point,” Sgt. Jason Bayda said in a news release.
Both boats quickly sank and the cause of the collision is under investigation, Bayda said.
Three people involved in the collision were taken to hospital, two in critical condition and one in stable condition.
Osoyoos RCMP and the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team are currently on scene and conducting a search of the area.
Anyone who was a witness to this incident and has not already spoken to police are asked to contact the Osoyoos RCMP Detachment at 250-495-7236.

Three people were hospitalized after a two boats collided on Osoyoos Lake Saturday evening.
Two of the patients were taken to hospital in critical condition and one was in stable condition, said BC Emergency Health Services spokesperson Vincent Chou.
A total of five ambulances responded to the call at 7:14 p.m., Chou said. Witnesses say ambulances responded to a beach area on the west side of Osoyoos Lake, off of Magnolia Place near Oleander Drive.
The Osoyoos Fire Department responded to assist RCMP and BC Ambulance, and fire chief Ryan McCaskill said the three people hospitalized were on the same boat. No passengers from the second boat were taken to hospital.
It is not yet known what caused the accident.
