The popular Big League Experience summer baseball camps are back in Oliver as young players from Osoyoos, Oliver and across the South Okanagan hone their baseball skills during week-long baseball camps at the ball diamonds located at the Oliver Community Park. Last week’s camp were for players born in 2006 and 2007. One week skills camps for players in the older age divisions continue this week and until the end of August. You can find more information or register by visiting www.bigleagueexperience.com. The Big League Experience Baseball Camps are one of the longest running in North America. The summer camp has been in existence since 1960 and is under the leadership of Marty Lehn (a former Canadian Olympic team coach and Major League Baseball Scout), and former Boston Red Sox and Colorado Rockies player, Colin Dixon. In addition to summer baseball camps, the Big League Experience hosts travel events and quality baseball tournaments as well as offer player/coach clinics during the year. (Keith Lacey photo)
