Osoyoos Lake Regional Park gets a 30-year license renewal to continue as a swimming area.

The Regional District of the Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) owns and operates the public park on the eastern shore of Osoyoos Lake through the Electoral Area “A” Parks Service.

The park has washrooms, open space, picnic tables and amenities to go along with the beach and swimming area.

The swimming area is on Provincial Crown Foreshore and because of this requires a license of occupation to identify and maintain a swimming area.

The area is 1.4 ha and is part of the bed of Osoyoos Lake and fronting on District Lot 42.

The regional park is located on the East side of Osoyoos Lake at 16th Ave. and 45th St., across from Brookvale Holiday Resort Campground.

The land was previously granted to the Regional District by Order in Council on April 23, 1981 from the Province of British Columbia for the purpose of a public park.

The RDOS board agreed to renew the license for another 30 years.
