Osoyoos Fire Rescue (OFR) personnel have all returned home after the second shift of firefighters returned from the Kootenay Lake Fire Zone.
“Today we wanted to thank our second shift, Firefighters Gill, Grant, and Captain Kunz for giving up their time to help the community of Argenta, BC,” the OFR posted today on social media.
Osoyoos Fire Rescue was requested by BC Wildfire to deploy a crew to the Kootenay Lake Fire Zone two weeks ago to help battle the Argenta Creek wildfire that continues to burn out of control. To date the fire which was discovered nearly a month ago on July 18, has burned 19,153 hectares of forest.
The OFR said: “All members are now back home and we appreciate them for answering the call to help those in need.”
