Just ahead of BC Craft Beer Month in October the BC Ale Trail is giving another – probably unnecessary – reason to raise a glass and toast to the best of BC’s craft beer culture.
The Ale Trail has kicked off the inaugural Best Beer Community Competition, where the heart and soul of British Columbia’s craft beer scene takes centre stage. It’s about the beer of course, but also the “vibrant, spirited communities that bring them to life”.
Public voting runs from September 9 to October 6 giving craft beer lovers across the province the chance to cast their votes and support their favourite beer communities along the BC Ale Trail.
The winners will be announced on Oct. 18 during BC Craft Beer Month at the annual gathering of BC’s craft beer industry, BC Beer Con, where the top communities will be celebrated for their contributions to BC’s vibrant beer culture.
The competition is divided into three tiers based on the number of breweries in each community:
- Communities with 1-2 breweries
- Communities with 3-5 breweries
- Communities with 6+ breweries
Participants will also be entered to win a Grand Prize Sip + Stay package, including perks like complimentary stays, swag, and attraction passes.
Voting is open to everyone and participants can visit the voting platform Sept. 9 to Oct. 6, to select their favourite beer community in each tier. It’s also possible to vote for an overall favourite brewery.
The beer community champions will also get more than just bragging rights, they’ll also be featured in exclusive content, including blogs, social media spotlights, and a mini-campaign to boost their profile.
The BC Ale Trail serves is a comprehensive guide to exploring British Columbia’s craft beer culture, linking over 220 craft breweries across 21 self-guided Ale Trails. In partnership with Destination British Columbia and the BC Craft Brewers Guild, the BC Ale Trail showcases the finest of BC’s brewing scene through thoughtfully curated itineraries.
