A suspect in the stabbing of an Oliver man has turned himself in to police.

Oliver RCMP report that 33-year-old Kyle Louie has been charged with assault with a weapon and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on July 28.

Last week police reported a stabbing on McKinney Road, an incident that occurred on June 17. The victim suffered minor injuries to his cheek. He was treated in hospital and later released.

In 2015, Kyle Louie was sentenced to 75 months in jail after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the 2011 stabbing death of his younger brother, Reece.
