Osoyoos residents and businesses should be vigilant as several break-ins have been reported recently.

Between Oct. 18 and 22, four residences were entered and various items were stolen, according to polic.

“All of the residences entered were insecure and the suspect(s) entered via an unlocked window or door,” said Sgt. Jason Bayda.

Between Oct. 21 and 22 there were two break-ins (forced entry) to businesses where cash appeared to be targeted, Bayda reported. There was also one attempted business break-in, he added.

Bayda said the residential break-ins occurred mostly during the morning or daytime hours, while the business break-ins occurred overnight.

“Almost all of the break-ins occurred along or near main routes in Osoyoos, indicating the suspect(s) may not be from the area.”
