The Oliver Fire Department is assisting the RCMP this morning with an investigation near the Okanagan River channel off Sawmill Road.
Firefighters were called to assist police regarding an incident behind Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service at the corner of Spruce Avenue and Hemlock Street.
Firefighting equipment such as pike poles are being used in the investigation.
BC Ambulance is also on scene.
Fire department spokesman Rob Graham referred all questions to the RCMP.
Sergeant Blaine Gervais from the RCMP could not provide any details yet, since the investigation is still in the early stages.
