Two more human caused fires in Oliver are concerning to local authorities.

This evening the Oliver Fire Department reported a human caused fire on Oliver Mountain, which also involved a BC Wildfire crew.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and as of 7:30 p.m., all crews had left the scene.

The fire department said there was no criminal intent and that all parties involved had been in contact with fire officials and RCMP.

The second human caused fire occurred on Black Sage Road at the same time as the first fire. It was quickly extinguished and all crews are clear of that scene as well.

This fire was questioned by RCMP who continue to investigate a suspect.

“Great work by our members and the fire department,” said Oliver RCMP Sgt. Don Wrigglesworth.
