The scene was somewhat relaxing, and subdued.
Members of the Oliver United Church and their friends milling around Saturday afternoon, chatting about the Giants winning the World Series, possibly the latest Canucks win, or maybe the upcoming election.
That is, until the plastic was pulled off the tables, and the baked goods, the result of hours in the kitchen, were officially displayed to those in attendance.
Yes that’s when there was a mad dash to the ‘candy’ table, thus signalling the start of the Oliver United Church fall tea and bake sale.
Lots of goodies, and of course, tea.
Proceeds will go to many worthy causes at the United Church.
