The Osoyoos Curling Club hosted their annual women’s bonspiel which featured a Cocktail Party theme this year. A total of 16 teams competed with the victorious Division A and C teams both from Penticton while the Division B winners were from Osoyoos.

“With COVID we haven’t been able to host the bonspiels for the last two years. It’s really good to get back into having bonspiels again, seeing everyone have so much fun again,” said Nancy Katerenchuk, Club Manager of the Osoyoos Curling Club.

“As always it was a very successful event,” she added, noting that the theme saw some creative costuming by the many of the curlers.

With the season drawing towards the end, one final wind up bonspiel known as the 2023 Meltdown bonspiel is left for the season. The inter-club tournament will be held on Sat. March 18 just before the ice comes out.

Katerenchuk says the mixed bonspiel will feature about 14 teams and is only a one-day bonspiel. “Just a one day fun bonspiel before everyone goes off in their own directions,” she added.
