The Willowbrook Fire Department was the victim of an attempted break-in on Nov. 27.

Oliver RCMP said the fire chief reported mischief that occurred at 7:20 a.m. that morning.

The suspect was wearing a winter coat and ski goggles, and was on a red Arctic Cat 250 quad and attempted to break into the department’s structure protection trailer with a screwdriver, according to police.

Police say the suspect also broke into a truck parked at the location, however, nothing was stolen.

RCMP say that surveillance video shows the suspect arriving from the south on Willowbrook Road, attempted the break-in on the trailer lock and truck, then departed on a very noisy red quad northbound up Green Lake Road toward Okanagan Falls.

Police suspect the quad was the same one recently stolen from a Road 15 property.

In that Nov. 27 incident, a complainant called the Oliver RCMP to report that his shed was broken into and his red 250 Arctic Cat quad was stolen along with an old Stihl chain saw. Police say the items were recovered through neighbourhood enquiries.

In another incident on Nov. 25, Oliver RCMP were advised of an alarm at a business in the 6000 block of Main. Police attended and noticed the glass door was smashed and the owner was inside. He told police that the alarm did not go off until the business owner from next door entered the store to get a phone number to let him know about the break and enter. Nothing appeared to be missing from the store, according to police.

The other store owner reported that his business was also broken into on the same day. He said that two sodas and some baked goods were stolen. Once again, the suspect gained entry by breaking the front glass door.

On Nov 27 at 2:15 a.m., an alarm was received from a business in the 6800 block of Tucelnuit Drive.

Oliver RCMP attended and confirmed that a break and enter had occurred. Police cleared the premises and confirmed that no suspect was on site at the time of arrival. Nothing appeared to be stolen and surveillance video is being reviewed.
