The fire is now classified as “Under Control” and the cause of the fire has also been updated to a dry lightning strike which means it occurred without rain nearby.

ORIGINAL STORY
An “Out of Control” wildfire is burning to the east of Black Sage Road on Osoyoos Indian Band land opposite Orchard Grove Lane.
The fire – discovered on Monday, July 22 at 8:12 a.m. – is currently estimated at 0.5 hectares and was caused by a dry lightning strike, according to the BC Wildfire Service.
The fire was being actioned by a helicopter with a water bucket this morning.
The story will be updated as more information becomes available.
Meanwhile, an earlier fire at Middle Togo Creek west of Fairview was brought under control earlier today. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
