Wildfire crews from Vanderhoof were seen at the Oliver Aiport this morning preparing for a long day on the front lines.
They will likely be joined by a group of firefighters from Mexico who arrived in Canada on the weekend.
The Osoyoos Indian Band welcomed the crews with a prayer and drumming. A total of 98 firefighters will be joining efforts on the Nk’Mip Creek wildfire, which is still classified as out of control at more than 6,800 hectares.
