Desert Valley Hospice Society is launching a free Wellness Call program to keep elder and senior residents connected through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The program is offered at no cost, using volunteers who have been trained to respond to requests.
The non-profit Hospice Society said the Wellness Calls aim help relieve feelings of loneliness and anxiety, reconnect isolate seniors with the community, help locate local services and resources, assist with hobbies people may have, and provide a consistent, one on one relationship with a volunteer.
This service is available to seniors in Oliver, Osoyoos and Okanagan Falls. Registration can be completed through facility managers at care homes or by email: [email protected].
