Residents and some businesses surrounding the Hollow Street reconstruction project will experience a water shut-off between the hours of 7 am and 7pm. The shut-down is the due to some new water mainline pipe being incorporated into the domestic water system from the upgrades that are happening in the project. Some will experience more shut downs in the future when more pipe and services are tied back into the system but notices will be handed out again . The reason the water is being shut

down such a large area is due to the failing of some shut off valves on the existing main line water system infrastructure. With the new infrastructure going in, more shut off valves are incorporated in the design thus shutting off less properties in the future when fixes or upgrades are required. Property owners may need to run a bit of water, after the tie-ins, to clear any sediment stirred up during the process.
