“It is crucial for individuals seeking services with us to feel welcome and respected. SOVAS wants to send this message to our clients as soon as they step into our office, stated SOVAS acting coordinator Christine Schwarz.
The grant from the South Okanagan/ Similkameen went towards purchasing a larger seating area, an additional work station and office furniture to help the office run more efficiently and to create a more welcoming space.
SOVAS provides victim support services and counselling services to approximately 1,200 women and men per year who have experienced abuse and violence.
