The Osoyoos Royal Canadian Legion has completed its commemorative crosswalk across 78th St.  following unanimous approval from Town Council in early April.

The crosswalk includes two red maple leaves and the words, “In Honour of Those Who Served and Sacrificed,” in both French and English.

According to the written proposal to council at the time by the Legion: “During the Remembrance period and throughout the year, a growing number of legion branches and communities are developing commemorative crosswalks to honour veterans.”

Images of a series of stencils for the maple leaves and the commemorative text were provided to the local legion branches by national headquarters.

The Legion will also maintain the crosswalk when it fades over time.
