Osoyoos and area music lovers will get double the bang for their buck when the next concert in the Osoyoos Concert Series hits the stage.

That’s because good friends Darrelle London and Kevin Fox will both be performing on Thursday, Feb. 12 in the Community Theatre at Osoyoos Secondary School.

“They are both solo artists, but they have been doing stuff together and we’re thrilled to have both of them for our next concert,” said Pat Philpott, promotions co-ordinator for the Osoyoos Concert Series. “We’re getting two outstanding artists for the price of one, so we’re pretty pleased about that and I’m sure those who attend the concert are going to be very impressed.”

Both London and Fox have enjoyed solid solo careers, but they’ve also garnered plenty of critical acclaim since they agreed to perform as a duo over the past couple of years, said Philpott.

London is a respected singer-songwriter who is also a gifted piano player.

Renowned Canadian songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk excitedly reached out to London after discovering her music online and the pair have since collaborated on numerous occasions and Kreviazuk speaks highly of the experience.

“Her gentle, unique approach to music is so special … it is a pleasure to be immersed in,” she said.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton also counts London among his favourite musical artists. He recently wrote on his website, “We love the quirky Canadian piano pop singer-songwriter. She’s back with some fresh tunes and it’s so her. She is sweet, catchy and slightly off centre. WE love it.”

Some highlights of London’s still-young career include touring North America after being chosen by Canadian music legend Sarah McLachlan to perform at the Lilith Fair concert series and placing her music on the hit television series 90210.

London’s music has been played on numerous CBC radio programs, including Vinyl Café, Radio 2 Drive and she has also appeared on Canada A.M., The National, ETalk, Much Music and PBS.

London has been in the studio recently recording her third album, called Tangerine and Blue, which is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2015.

She looks forward to touring across Canada in support of the new album.

Fox is also a very well respected and talented Canadian solo artist.

If you have any interest in the Canadian music scene over the past several years, there’s a good chance you may have heard Fox’s music, said Philpott.

He is not only  a fine singer-songwriter, but also a gifted multi-instrumentalist and composer-arranger.

Fox has worked in the studio and on stage with a variety of artists, ranging from Celine Dion to Katherine McPhee and Olivia Newton John.

He has spent much of the last seven years touring extensively with award-winning Canadian artists Steven Page (former lead singer of The Barenaked Ladies) and Kreviazuk.

As a composer and arranger, Fox has composed music for film and television as well as arrangements for artists ranging from Tom Cochrane to Jully Black to Justin Bieber.

Tickets for the concert are $23 in advance or $15 for students, or $25 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Imperial Office Pro or Sundance Video in Oliver. Anyone needing a ride to and from the concert, can contact Alix at 250-495-5250 at least two days before the concert so transportation can be arranged.
