Osoyoos Royalty Queen Emma Fernandes (centre) and Princesses Tianna Morgan (left) and Bailey Toepfer all say they enjoyed a remarkable past 12 months since becoming the latest members of the Osoyoos Royalty. The young ladies will be giving up their crowns Thursday evening at the annual Osoyoos Royalty Pageant at the Sonora Community Centre. (Photo supplied)
My name is Emma Fernandes and what a unique year it has been, full of travelling and new experiences.
Throughout my reign as Miss Osoyoos, I have traveled to many communities in the Okanagan and the surrounding area such as White Rock and our neighboring Town of Oroville.
Meeting young individuals like myself, ambassadors of their city or town, has been amazing, and as a result, I have made many friends.
I would love to thank all of the people who live in the Town of Osoyoos for giving me a town I have been so proud to represent. During my reign, our town has come and worked together like never before.
I am so proud to be from our wonderful town and have loved representing it.
I would also like to thank my two princesses, Tianna Morgan and Bailey Toepfer.
You ladies have been so fun and amazing to spend my year with. We grew together in many different ways in this program and I cannot say my year would have been what it was if it wasn’t for you two.
I would also like to thank the members of the Osoyoos Royalty committee who have done so much for the three of us this past year. Your hard work is very much appreciated.
I would also like to thank all the businesses in town that generously donate to this program to make it what it is.
As my reign has come to an end, I hope the new reigning royalty has a positive time in this program and I wish them the best of luck.
My name is Bailey Toepfer and 12 months ago I got crowned as an Osoyoos Princess.
On Thursday evening, June 30, I will pass on my title to another young lady.
The memories I have shared with all the other girls in the Osoyoos Royalty program will be treasured forever.
Traveling across British Columbia was an experience I will never forget, including trips as far as White Rock and Cranbrook.
I would like to thank the Town of Osoyoos for being our biggest supporters with this program.
To Mayor Sue McKortoff and council members, thank you for helping us with our traveling and supporting our program by attending and helping at our local events.
To everyone who made this year possible for me, thank you for your endless support and encouragement. I will never forget the skills I have learned and the things I am now capable of doing.
This wouldn’t have been possible without this program.
To the candidates, working with you for the last five months has been great.
Getting to see who you were then and what you have accomplished makes me very proud. You probably didn’t even know it was possible. No matter what title you get, stand proud of who you are. You are all winners in the end.
As our pageant comes closer and closer, it makes me realize I need to capture the moment, remember how I presented myself and how much this year meant to me.
I plan to make every last moment count!
My name is Tianna Morgan and it has been a crazy, busy year. I can’t believe it has been 365 days since I was crowned. Now, in just a few days, I’ll be crowning the next Osoyoos Princess.
I have enjoyed travelling to different communities all over British Columbia. It’s been so interesting learning what each community has to offer and how special it is to the residents.
My fondest memory was walking up and down the boardwalk in White Rock and stopping to watch every train go by.
It’s been a pleasure travelling with Princess Bailey and Queen Emma. I couldn’t have asked for better people to reign with.
Not only have we been involved in other communities, we have been actively involved in our own community.
Until I joined this program, I was not aware of how many great events and organizations we have in the community.
It was incredible to see how many people put so much hard work into these events. I am so glad I was able to be a part of some of them. Even though I’m retiring, I plan to stay involved in the community.
A big thank you to the locals, the businesses and supporters in Osoyoos. The love and support you’ve given us this past year is beyond amazing and we really appreciate it.
To the candidates, good job on finishing your candidacy. You’re on to a whole new journey.
It’s a lot more work than you’d think and it takes a lot of perseverance and dedication, but it’s worth all the lessons you will learn. A very big good luck to you all.
I have loved being the Osoyoos Princess for this past year, but I am very eager to start a new, exciting chapter in my life. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this chapter.
