Crossing the Canada-U.S. border has always been an important part of life in Osoyoos, since there was a border – even before the first customs house was built at Osoyoos in 1861. In our April 11 paper, we featured a photo of crossing the border in the early 1960s. The photo above shows what it was like in July 1933. This photo from the Simpson Family collection shows Perley Simpson and his father at the Canada Customs building. (Osoyoos and District Museum and Archives)
