Teachers dragged out the umbrellas today (June 13) and walked the picket lines as part of rotating strikes in BC. If no deal is reached this weekend, teachers will withdraw all services beginning Monday, June 16. Students were asked to take all of their belongings home on Thursday in preparation for a full strike. Parents and students have been assured that provincial exams are going ahead as planned. The same goes for graduation ceremonies. Bargaining issues include a fair wage increase, smaller class sizes, and more support in the classroom for students who need extra help. School administrators are cautiously optimistic that a deal will be reached this weekend.
