The recent storm brought spectacular special effects to the South Okanagan, including lightning shows that rivalled any July 1st fireworks.
Tony Iannella reported that at least 100 trees came down in the Willowbrook area, and the storm cut power for 22 hours. He noted that the trees hit houses, barns, garages and vehicles. He said one property had 19 large pine trees come down, while the property next door was completely unscathed.
Recent lightning caused numerous spot fires up and down the valley.
