The ladies of St Paul Lutheran Church and friends have been busy making quilts.
They have shipped 218 quilts to Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) and 185 to orphanages in Moldova.
The group is always in need of supplies – sheets, blankets, fabric, drapes, thin sleeping bags, quilt batting, mattress covers and sewing thread.
A drop-off bin for donations is located at Oliver Country Wines on Main Street, or call Linda (250-498-2276) or Marge (250-498-3658) for pickup.
A huge thank-you to all that have already donated items for these quilting projects.
An offshoot of the quilting is padded dog blankets for the SPCA.
Pillow cases are used to make dresses for CLWR, and bed skirts are made into small skirts for girls in Third World countries.
Peter Hooge cuts squares, as does Ella Mayer in McKinney Place.
