A 41-year-old Summerland man faces potential robbery charges after an Oliver liquor store was robbed recently.

On June 8 at 3:09 pm, the Oliver RCMP responded to a hold-up alarm at Spud’s Liquor Store at 6341 Main Street. An unknown, masked male suspect entered the store and took a quantity of cash from the till before fleeing on foot. No weapon was seen and no one was injured in the robbery.

A coordinated investigation, with assistance from the Penticton RCMP, Penticton First Nations policing, and Summerland RCMP resulted in the identification of the suspect and his subsequent arrest on June 13.

The suspect faces potential charges of robbery and disguising himself with the intent of committing a crime. He has since been released on a promise to appear in court on July 24.
