Due to cooler temperatures, the Eagle Bluff Wildfire experienced limited growth Sunday according to the latest update from BC Wildfire.
The fire is about 2,632 hectares in size. 169 personnel continue working on the fire Sunday along with heavy equipment. A 57-person team will remain on the fire overnight.
A planned ignition occurred successfully yesterday allowing crews to bring the fire southeast toward the control line, BC Wildfire stated. Helicopters supported crews on the ground by using buckets and belly tanks to cool the area and suppress hot spots. Resources are continually challenged by the steep and rocky terrain in the area and site safety is a priority.
