A man is dead and an investigation is underway following a fatal targeted shooting in Oliver Saturday, RCMP say.
On June 13, shortly before 11:30 p.m., Oliver RCMP responded to a report of a shooting at a home in the 6000-block of Sandpoint Drive.
Upon arrival RCMP say they located a deceased male.
The Southeast District Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation with the assistance of the South Okanagan RCMP.
“The investigation is in its early stages, but preliminary information suggests this was a targeted incident and no danger to the public at large exists,” reads an RCMP statement.
