The Ladies of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the church participate in many fundraisers aimed at helping the community and a recent one saw the ladies, led by Reneta Elliot, raise $5,000.
The ladies often lend a helping hand to different charities in need, from Aktion/Kiwanis to the Okanagan Gleaners Society, and the Thanks Thanksgiving food drive, among many more. The ladies are behind the scenes and always willing to lend a hand.
A recent initiative saw beautiful floral centerpieces created and auctioned off, with the proceeds going to the Aktion Club. The Aktion Club – a service club for adults with disabilities – is under the Kiwanis Club of Oliver umbrella, and funds raised by Kiwanis’ various fundraisers go to the various charities supported by the service club.
The floral arrangements along with other raffle items raised around $5,000. The ladies will be coming together with volunteers to make more of the floral centerpieces for the December 11, 2025, dinner raffle at the Oliver Legion.
