RCMP are investigating a suspected stabbing incident that occurred Monday afternoon at the Walnut Beach Resort in Osoyoos.

A 25-year-old male was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, Osoyoos RCMP said in a news release issued Tuesday.

Police responded to the incident at 1:40 p.m. Monday.

“Preliminary information suggests this was a targeted event and police do not feel public safety is at risk,” said Sgt. Jason Bayda, commanding officer of the RCMP Osoyoos Detachment.

Police said no further information can be released at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.
