The month of October was all about volunteer work for the Osoyoos Royalty team.
Our first big event was our very own Royalty Fall Fair and Tea, held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 173 hall on Oct. 24 .
We served goodies and the vendors had many varied goods for sale. We would like to thank all the local vendors and the community for coming out and supporting us. We all had a wonderful time.
We were asked to help out at the annual Osoyoos Harvest Dance, which is held to support the Osoyoos Childcare Centre. We took tickets, hung up jackets and put out food. It’s always great to be involved in local events.
Princess Tianna Morgan, Princess Bailey Toepfer and I were very excited to be the first Royalty team to help with Trick-or-Treat Main Street.
We handed out candy and helped with the photo booth, dressed like zombie princesses, thanks to the amazing make-up done by Isabelle Dias.
Thank you, Michelle Quail from the Osoyoos Credit Union, for asking us to help.
We are currently looking for new Osoyoos Royalty candidates for 2016.
We are having a pre-Christmas social on Monday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. for girls in Grades 9 to 11 and their moms.
Watch for posters at school with more details. The social will provide a great opportunity to learn about the royalty program and what we do. The program will help teach new skills such as public speaking and getting more involved in the community, while also allowing to meet new people.
Come and meet our team.
We are also excited to welcome Adrienne Mailey to our Royalty Committee. We know she will be a great addition
With November, we are excited to be heading into months with more functions and volunteer opportunities.
The Osoyoos Royalty program has been part of this community for the past several decades and has continued to provide opportunities for teenage girls to travel around the province representing this community at events throughout the year.
