Oliver town council has been asked to proclaim June as Pride month, a special request by the South Okanagan Similkameen Pride Society.
In a letter to council, the Society asked the Town to acknowledge and celebrate the local LGBTQ2S+ community in order to demonstrate Oliver’s inclusiveness.
The Society indicated ways to celebrate Pride month, including a rainbow crosswalk, hanging a Pride flag at Town Hall, or donating to a local LGBTQ2S+ organization.
Council will discuss the matter at its regular meeting this evening.
