As a fairly recent transplant from the Coast to Osoyoos, I was very pleased to discover that the Sun Bowl Arena had free ice time sponsored by the local Rotary Club of Osoyoos.
As a long time skater and hockey player, this was good news to me as I am able to skate two to three times a week which keeps me fit and feeling healthy.
It’s something to look forward to when the fishing and gardening of the spring, summer and fall come to an end.
On behalf of myself, local skaters and “snowbirds,” I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Rotary Club of Osoyoos for this opportunity and also to commend the guys that make the ice at the rink.
It is by far the best ice surface I have ever skated on, bar none, in my 60-plus years of skating and playing hockey around the province of B.C.
We often hear the bad but seldom hear the good, so hats off to the Rotary Club and the guys who make the ice!
