More batteries stolen

On August 30, the RCMP received a report that overnight thieves had climbed into a locked/fenced compound at Lordco in Osoyoos and stole several cases of oil and 40-50 used batteries.

Police say this is the third theft of vehicle batteries over the last several months.

If anyone has information about someone in possession of a large number of vehicle batteries, call the Osoyoos RCMP at 250-495-7236.

Photo radar trap 

On August 30 police were called to the Oasis RV Resort in Osoyoos as people there had apprehended a man stealing a radar detector from a vehicle.

Police took custody of a 20-year-old man and arrested him for theft.  He recently moved to Osoyoos from Penticton and is well known to police.

Licence plate stolen

On the morning of September 1, an off-duty police officer noted a suspicious vehicle with a male and female behind the Best Western in Osoyoos.

Police investigated and found the vehicle to have a stolen licence plate attached. The 25-year-old male owner of the car is under investigation for possession of stolen property.  The man recently moved to Osoyoos from the North Okanagan and is known to police.
