A lack of physician coverage has again resulted in the planned closure of the Oliver hospital’s emergency department on Saturday, July 6.

Residents are advised that the department will be closed from 6 p.m. on Saturday to 8 a.m. on Sunday, July 7.

Interior Health says residents who require care during this time should visit Penticton Regional Hospital. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.

If you are unsure about your need to visit the emergency department, call HealthLinkBC at 8-1-1.

This is the second time within a month that a lack of physician coverage has resulted in the emergency department closing; a close also took place overnight from June 15 – 16.
